Turn a YouTube transcript into notes
- Open the lecture, tutorial, or explainer on a desktop

- Scan the lines before copying. Click a line whenever you need to seek to the corresponding part of the video.
- Select Copy + time for detailed study notes, or Copy for a cleaner reading version.

Use a simple note structure
Start with the copied video title and source link. Add a short section for the video's main question, then create headings for concepts, examples, and unresolved points. Keep direct transcript excerpts visually separate from your own explanation. This makes later revision easier and reduces the chance of treating a caption error as a verified fact.

- Evidence or example: retain the relevant caption line and timestamp.

Keep only the transcript lines you need
A complete transcript is a source, not a finished set of notes. Remove greetings, repeated phrases, and sections outside your study goal. Group related ideas even if they appeared at different times. For a concise review sheet, convert paragraphs into questions and answers. For a technical tutorial, keep commands, definitions, and warnings beside their nearest timestamps.
Verify important details
The extension does not transcribe uploaded audio or rewrite YouTube captions. It copies the caption track that YouTube makes available. Automatic captions can mishear names, numbers, and domain-specific vocabulary. Use seek-by-line clicks to replay critical moments before relying on a quotation or instruction. If the creator has changed the captions, use Refresh to request the current track.
