Get started with youtube transcriber

1. Pin the extension

Open chrome://extensions, find youtube transcriber, and pin it to the toolbar so the icon stays visible.

2. Open a watch page

Open a youtube.com/watch?v=… page with captions. The transcript panel targets standard desktop watch pages; Shorts and other YouTube surfaces are not supported.

3. Read the panel

The transcript appears in the right column above related videos. It opens by default and scrolls inside the panel while the player keeps its full width.

4. Copy or seek

• Copy writes plain transcript text with the video title and link in the header.
• Copy + time prefixes each line with a timestamp such as [1:24].
• Select a transcript line to seek the player to that timestamp.

5. Choose how transcripts load

Open Settings in the panel toolbar to change the interface language. Turn Automatic off if you prefer to load transcripts manually. Collapse the panel when you only want related videos; the extension remembers your choice.

Use the toolbar shortcut

Select the extension icon on a YouTube watch tab to bring the panel into view and refresh the transcript when needed.
